How the UIC Data Analytics Bootcamp Works

The UIC Data Analytics Bootcamp is designed for students to pursue high-quality tech education while continuing to balance work or other commitments. Our program provides you with the flexibility to fit career development into your life.

  • All bootcamp classes are instructor-led and taught 100% online.

  • Part-time and full-time bootcamp programs are available.

  • All classes are held on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

    You can choose which class time works best for you in the application process.

    • 6:30pm-9:30pm CT
  • All classes are held Monday-Friday.

    • 9:00am-4:00pm CT

In addition to classroom lessons, part-time students can anticipate spending 6-8 hours studying and working on outside assignments each week.

Tuition

  • The data analytics curriculum is broken down into four main areas: 1. Excel; 2. Presentations; 3. SQL; and 4. Python. From there, students work on learning the skills they need to pass two industry certifications (Tableau Desktop Specialist and AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty) and finish the program with a culminating project. Grads of the UIC Data Analytics Bootcamp learn the skills they need to be qualified for entry-level roles like Data Analyst and Insights Analyst.

  • Yes, the UIC Data Analytics Bootcamp is beginner-friendly. It’s specifically designed for professionals who have no previous experience in data analytics. While some background knowledge is helpful, the only expectation is that students have general computer literacy skills in basics like efficiently using the internet/cloud and Windows.

  • Your time with our career success team will include everything from workshops to one-on-one office hours to phone chats before big interviews. And on top of all that, the team will be working behind the scenes to find openings that are right for you and staying up-to-date on the latest recruiting trends to make sure they prepare you for everything.

  • With more than 600,000 job postings in the U.S. and a 21.5% projected 10-year growth rate, now is an exciting time to launch a fulfilling career in Data Analytics. Our program will help you learn the in-demand skills you need to succeed in the field and start working in as few as 10 weeks.

  • To be eligible for the program, you must be at least 18 years old and a high school grad/GED holder by the start date of your intended cohort.

  • Complete the application, take the assessment (60 minutes), and receive a decision. While taking the assessment, you may pause to save your progress and return at a later time. At any point in the process, you can also schedule a time to speak with one of our Student Advisors who can walk you through the process and answer your questions.

  • As part of the bootcamp program, we'll train you to earn two of the most in-demand certifications in the field of data analytics:

    • AWS Certified Data Analytics - Specialty
    • Tableau Desktop Specialist

    Taking each certification exam is optional but highly recommended for career success. If you feel like you're ready, then take the exams as you go through the bootcamp. Otherwise, we recommend earning the certifications soon after you graduate.

  • You will pay the exam fee at the testing center where you take your exam(s). The cost for the AWS certification exam is currently $300 and the cost of the Tableau certification exam is currently $100.

  • As part of this program, you will create an account on Amazon Web Services then work on it. You should plan to spend up to $150 on your AWS account as you work through the bootcamp.
